Do you accept insurance?
Mind-Body Trauma Recovery is an "out-of-network" provider. Most insurance companies offer partial reimbursement for "out-of-network" services. Mind-Body Trauma Recovery can provide a monthly receipt (superbill) which you can submit to the insurance carrier for reimbursement.

When you call your insurance company, you should ask:
-
What are my out-of-network mental health insurance benefits?
-
What is my deductible and has it been met?
-
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
-
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
-
Is preauthorization (e.g. pre-approval, pre-certification) required from my insurance company or primary care physician?
-
Am I able to use a health savings, flex spending, or other similar types of accounts to cover the cost of treatment?

What does "out-of-network" mean?
Mind-Body Trauma Recovery, as an "out-of-network" provider, does not have a contract with any insurance company. However, most insurance companies have "out-of-network" benefits which can be used to pay for services.
When you get services from an "out-of-network" provider, like Mind-Body Trauma Recovery, you pay the entire cost of the session upfront, and then file a claim with your insurance company. The insurance company then reimburses you for some - or all - of the money you spent.
Filing a claim means filling out paperwork about the services you received and sending it to the insurance company. Mind-Body Trauma Recovery will provide you with a document called a superbill to include with your claim. A superbill shows the insurance company exactly what kind of service you received.

What if I need help submitting claims?
Patients can submit claims to their insurance company either by mail or online through the insurance company's website. The online submission method is recommended, because it provides an easier way to track and receive updates on the status of the claim. When completing the online submission, patients will be required to upload their superbill, ensuring that all necessary details are included for a streamlined and efficient reimbursement process.

If you need further help submitting claims, you can also use www.Reimbursify.com. Reimbursify is a platform that helps patients submit insurance claims by empowering them to effortlessly self-file for out-of-network medical and mental health insurance reimbursement in as little as 10 seconds.

No Surprises Act/Good Faith Estimate:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
